Accoutrement Adjustment
This latest painting's concept lies on the gesture of the two girls. One leans on her hands while the other adjusts an ankle string, one leg outstretched to the ground for balance. Their poses remind me of ballerinas at rest. The design of this composition has beauty in the simplicity of two figures cutting shapes out off a plain background. Other interest is in the psychology of their moment: What are they discussing? Are they sisters because they're dressed similarly? Or just close friends who want to identify with each other through dress, hairstyle, and adornments?
