Solitude

This 16x24 oil on canvas landscape resulted from a trip to the Berkshires in western Massachusetts. The area is cradled in serenity by the mountains and valleys. On this cloudy day the atmosphere sat tranquil and quiet, as if holding its breath. At times like that, Nature seems to be saying, "I'm not moving. So slow down and take a look." So I did. And this is what I saw.
