Painted Dory

Painted Dory, 18x24, is an oil painting of a freshly painted dory in Gloucester Harbor. What stopped me in my tracks was the reflections it cast into the water. Always a sucker for reflections, I had to capture the way this boat shows off its full beauty. Overall, the scene is symphonic. The exaggerated boat colors (which are real), the defined reflections of the boat's underside, and the way the sky pours its deep blue into the water all sing in visual harmmony.
