Sttiing on the Dock of the Bay

She's relaxed. Carefree. Self-assured. Basking in the sun's warmth, the water lapping below her feet, she licks an orange pop and the song begins playing in my mind: sittin' on the dock of the bay, watch'n the tide roll away...

She seemed supremely confident for a young girl. Some pretty girls are born into that role, I think. Mae West comes to mind as one of them. Yet, there often is a naivete with young girls who happen to be pretty, having been led to believe from the constant attention and forgiving allowances that there is something special about them; when in fact, millions of pretty girls in the world, placed in one arena, would offer up a humbling reality that they are part of a vast tribe.
But beauty is still interesting to behold, whichever form it takes. And this girl drew my attention, in her cool sunglasses, to invest the time to capture on canvas.
