Sunday Morning at the Crepe House
This painting is about "atmosphere," which is portrayed by the volume of space and the growing sunlight making its way into the day. The lone figure sitting outside on a quiet street corner, reading a book while enjoying food and beverage, epitomizes what most of us consider to be a relaxed Sunday morning in the city. The building's color scheme of green rectangles against a mustard-yellow wall, delineated and accentuated by red trim around the big windows, which allow a view of dim, golden interior, all contribute to the almost playful and intimate mood of the environment.
